Itinerary
Arrive at Guwahati Airport, where you will be greeted by santos.travel representative. You will then be transferred to Kaziranga National Park (Approx. 240 km / 5 hours), enjoying a scenic drive through the lush landscapes of Assam.
Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. If time permits, you may opt to visit a traditional tea estate to experience Assam’s renowned tea culture, including a plantation and factory tour (on direct payment basis and subject to operational timings).
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kaziranga National Park is renowned for its population of the endangered one-horned rhinoceros and offers some of the best wildlife experiences in India. The park is home to the famous “Big Five” of Kaziranga – the Indian One-horned Rhinoceros, Asian Elephant, Royal Bengal Tiger, Asiatic Water Buffalo, and Sambar Deer. It is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with over 450 species of resident and migratory birds recorded within the park.

Enjoy an early morningjeep safari in the Central Range of Kaziranga National Park, offering an excellent opportunity to spot the park’s diverse wildlife, including the iconic one-horned rhinoceros, elephants, wild buffaloes, deer, and a variety of bird species in their natural habitat.
After the safari, visit the Orchid and Biodiversity Park, where you can admire a remarkable collection of native orchids and explore exhibits showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Assam. Stroll through displays of traditional handicrafts, handloom textiles, and indigenous rice varieties, and enjoy the opportunity to sample authentic Assamese cuisine (on direct payment basis).
In the afternoon, proceed for another exciting jeep safari in the Western Range of Kaziranga, renowned for its scenic grasslands and excellent wildlife sightings.

After breakfast, drive to Shillong, the charming capital of Meghalaya, often referred to as the “Scotland of the East.” En route, stop at the picturesque Umiam Lake (Barapani), a vast man-made reservoir surrounded by rolling hills, offering spectacular views and excellent photo opportunities.
Upon arrival in Shillong, check in to your hotel and relax. Later, visit Ward’s Lake, a beautiful horseshoe-shaped lake located in the heart of the city, known for its well-maintained gardens and serene atmosphere.
In the evening, explore the vibrant Police Bazaar, Shillong’s bustling commercial hub, where you can soak in the local atmosphere, browse shops, and enjoy the variety of cafés and restaurants.

After breakfast, visit the Don Bosco Museum (closed on Sundays and government holidays), one of the finest cultural museums in Northeast India. The museum showcases an extensive collection of artifacts, traditional costumes, tools, and exhibits representing the diverse tribes and rich cultural heritage of the region.
Later, drive through the scenic rolling hills of Meghalaya towards Cherrapunjee (Sohra), renowned as one of the wettest places on Earth. En route, stop at the beautiful Elephant Falls, a multi-tiered waterfall nestled amidst lush greenery.
Upon reaching Cherrapunjee, enjoy local sightseeing, including the spectacular Nohkalikai Falls, India’s tallest plunge waterfall, the breathtaking Seven Sisters Falls, the fascinating Limestone Caves, and the Bangladesh View Point, which offers panoramic views of the plains of Bangladesh stretching beyond the hills.
After a day filled with natural wonders and stunning landscapes, return to Shillong.

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Dawki, a picturesque town near the India–Bangladesh border, famous for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River. The stunning transparency of the river creates the illusion of boats floating on air, making it one of Meghalaya’s most photographed destinations. Continue to the Indo-Bangladesh border post and spend some time enjoying the unique atmosphere and scenic surroundings.
Later, drive to Mawlynnong, acclaimed as the “Cleanest Village in Asia.” Explore this charming village known for its cleanliness, community-based tourism, and beautiful natural setting. Take a short walk to the remarkable Living Root Bridge, a unique bio-engineered structure created by intertwining the roots of rubber trees over generations. Also visit the fascinating Balancing Rock and climb the village’s tree house for panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the plains of Bangladesh.
After an enriching day of sightseeing, return to Shillong.
