Overview
The Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of the most popular adventures in the Annapurna Region, offering an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Himalayas. This spectacular trail takes trekkers through charming slate-roofed villages, lush rhododendron forests, deep gorges, and cascading waterfalls as the landscape gradually transforms from green foothills to dramatic alpine terrain where glaciers replace rivers. Starting from Pokhara, the trek leads to the hidden sanctuary surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks.
The massive south face of Annapurna I (8,091m) creates a breathtaking backdrop, while stunning views of peaks above 6,000m — including Hiunchuli, Annapurna III, and the iconic Machapuchare — make every step rewarding. Along the way, trekkers experience the rich culture, warm hospitality, and natural beauty of the Himalayan villages. Following ancient mountain trails once connected to Tibet, the Annapurna Base Camp trek is truly an outstanding Himalayan adventure filled with scenic beauty, cultural encounters, and awe-inspiring mountain vistas.
