Leh & Ladakh Odyssey

Arrive at Leh Airport and receive a warm welcome from our representative, followed by a transfer to your hotel for check-in and relaxation. Take some time to acclimatize and rest during the first half of the day, allowing your body to adjust to the high altitude of Ladakh.

After adequate rest and depending on your acclimatization, proceed for a short local sightseeing tour of Leh with a visit to the historic Leh Palace, a 17th-century royal residence built by King Sengge Namgyal, offering a glimpse into Ladakh’s royal heritage and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Continue to Namgyal Tsemo Monastery, and its association with King Tashi Namgyal’s historic victory over Central Asian invaders. Later, visit the serene Shanti Stupa, a white-domed structure built as a symbol of world peace, offering stunning views of Leh and its surrounding mountains.

Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Leh.

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion towards the Sham Valley region. Begin with a visit to the Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to the bravery of the Indian Army. Continue to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, followed by Magnetic Hill, where vehicles appear to move uphill against gravity. Drive further to Sangam, the spectacular confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers. Thereafter, proceed to Likir Monastery, founded in 1065 A.D. by Lama Duwang Chosje and renowned for its magnificent statue of Lord Buddha. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant en route (on direct payment basis), then continue to Alchi Monastery, one of Ladakh’s oldest monasteries, celebrated for its exquisite Kashmiri-style murals and unique architecture. On the return journey to Leh, visit Spituk Monastery, perched on a hill overlooking the Indus Valley. Return to your hotel in Leh for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, proceed towards Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (18,380 ft), one of the world’s highest motorable roads and the gateway to the Siachen region. Enjoy breathtaking views of the snow-covered Himalayas as you cross this iconic high-altitude pass.

Upon arrival in Nubra Valley, check in to your hotel/camp and relax. Later, visit Hunder Village, famous for its unique cold desert landscape and picturesque sand dunes. Enjoy an unforgettable double-humped Bactrian camel safari (optional), a unique experience found only in this part of the Himalayas.

If time permits, you may also visit the historic Diskit Monastery, home to the impressive Maitreya Buddha statue overlooking the valley.

Return to your hotel/camp for dinner and an overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

After an early breakfast, depart towards Spangmik/Pangong via the scenic Shyok route (preferred), one of the most picturesque and adventurous drives in Ladakh. Please note that, depending on weather or road conditions, the journey may instead be routed via Leh and Chang La Pass, which may result in a longer travel time.

En route, pass through Diskit, a charming town known for its ancient monastery and desert landscapes, followed by Khalsar, a small settlement nestled along the banks of the Shyok River. Continue through Agham and Shyok Village, offering spectacular views of the rugged Himalayan terrain, before reaching Durbuk, a picturesque mountain village. Drive onward to Tangtse, known for its peaceful surroundings and military significance, and finally to Lukung, the gateway to the magnificent Pangong Lake.

Arrive at the breathtaking Pangong Lake, renowned for its crystal-clear waters and ever-changing shades of blue. Upon arrival, check in to your camp and unwind amidst the tranquil Himalayan landscape. Spend the evening soaking in the serene beauty of the lake and the surrounding mountains.

After breakfast, check out from the camp and begin your return journey to Leh via the majestic Chang La Pass (17,590 ft), one of the world’s highest motorable passes, offering spectacular views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks.

En route, visit the renowned Hemis Monastery, the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh, celebrated for its rich Buddhist heritage, impressive architecture, and tranquil mountain setting. Continue to the famous 3 Idiots School (Druk Padma Karpo School), made popular by the Bollywood movie 3 Idiots, where you can enjoy a brief photo stop and admire its unique surroundings.

Upon arrival in Leh, check in to your hotel. The remainder of the evening is at leisure to relax or explore the local market at your own pace.

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely day in Leh at your own pace. Explore the vibrant Leh Market, where you can shop for traditional Ladakhi handicrafts, pashmina shawls, Tibetan souvenirs, and local delicacies. Spend time relaxing at one of the town’s charming cafés, stroll through the local streets, or opt for additional sightseeing based on your interests. The rest of the day is free to unwind and soak in the unique atmosphere of Leh before your departure. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Leh.

Early morning transfer to Leh Airport to board your onward flight, carrying with you unforgettable memories of Ladakh’s breathtaking landscapes, serene monasteries, and unique high-altitude experiences.
