Upon arrival at Bangalore, meet our representative and proceed to Mysore, the royal city of Karnataka, renowned for its magnificent palaces, majestic architecture, lush gardens, tree-lined boulevards, exquisite silk, and fragrant sandalwood. Fondly known as the “City of Palaces,” Mysore is one of South India’s most captivating cultural destinations.

Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. Later, visit the iconic Maharaja’s Palace (outside view), an architectural masterpiece built in the Indo-Saracenic style. One of the palace’s most treasured attractions is its magnificent Golden Throne, displayed during the world-famous Dasara celebrations.

In the evening, proceed to Chamundi Hill, one of Mysore’s most revered landmarks. The hill is home to the impressive 4.8-metre monolithic Nandi Statue and the towering Mahishasura Statue, both offering excellent photo opportunities and panoramic views of the city below.

Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Mysore.

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Mysore, exploring its rich heritage, art, and architectural treasures.

Visit the Jaganmohan Palace Art Gallery, renowned for its impressive collection of traditional paintings, ceramics, ivory carvings, sandalwood artifacts, stone sculptures, antique furniture, and ancient musical instruments.

Continue to the magnificent St. Philomena’s Church, one of India’s largest churches, admired for its stunning Gothic architecture, soaring twin spires, and beautiful stained-glass windows depicting scenes from the life of Christ.

Later, drive to Srirangapatna, the historic island fortress and former capital of Tipu Sultan. Explore the Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace (Daria Daulat Bagh), the historic Jama Masjid, and the revered Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, an important Vaishnavite pilgrimage site.

In the evening, witness the rehearsal of the spectacular Torch Light Parade at Bannimantap Grounds, featuring marching contingents, equestrian displays, cultural performances, and ceremonial events (subject to schedule and permissions).

Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Mysore.

After breakfast, proceed to the iconic Mysore Maharaja’s Palace to witness the grand Dasara Pooja and Royal Dasara Celebrations. Be seated by 11:30 hrs to experience the traditional rituals, cultural ceremonies, and festive atmosphere within the palace premises. The celebrations offer a glimpse into the rich heritage and royal traditions of the Wadiyar Dynasty.

Guests are advised to carry a packed sandwich/snacks and a water bottle, as the event may continue for several hours. After the ceremonies, return to the hotel by approximately 16:00 hrs. The evening is at leisure for relaxation or personal activities.
